Language
As soon as you visit the site, a cookie is set in your browser by the WordPress extension Polylang, which contains the information in which language our website should be displayed. The cookie is a session cookie and is therefore usually deleted after the browser is closed, depending on the browser settings.
Visitor statistics
The website collects visitor statistics via the WordPress plugin Koko Analytics. Koko Analytics is a privacy-friendly analytics plugin for WordPress. It does not use any external services, so data about your visitors is never shared with third parties. Furthermore, no personal data is collected and you can easily prevent tracking by activating „Do Not Track“ in your browser.
Server-Logs
When you visit the website, connection data is automatically transmitted to the server on which the website is stored. Log data includes, for example, the IP address of the device you use to access the website, the type of browser you use to access the website, the website you visited previously, your system configuration and the date and time. The web server stores this data for a maximum of 30 days in order to be able to correct errors in the event of errors or attacks on the site. None of this data is used in any other way or passed on to third parties. The web server runs as a virtual machine on the infrastructure of the University of Graz. The university frequently does snapshots of the virtual machines, which will be only used and are only accessible for disaster data-recovery.
